The mediums of text and film can never tell
exactly the same story.... Now for number six on Contraltissimo's
DeviantArt How To Train Your Dragon DVD Countdown List of Happiness.... Let us reflect on the occurrence of
Book vs. Movie!
Ah, the Hiccups (meaning the characters!). One is older, the other is younger. One is a smith, the other is a swordsman. One has a girlfriend, the other is cooties-free. But they've
both captured our hearts.
As have their dragons. One is the most rare of its kind, the other the most common. One can draw pictures, the other can speak words. One will save you leftovers.... the other will swipe your dinner.
And then there are the fans. Some may conjure point after point to prove which manifestation is superior.... others simply love them both, despite their abounding differences. Or maybe, perhaps,
because of them.
You can guess which camp
I fall into here.

Ah, it all makes me want to hold hands and sing Kumbaya just thinking about it.

Indeed,
can't we all just get along?
Here's to two wonderful visions brought to life through book and screen alike.
And oh yeah....

Lol, sorry, Snotlout, there's only so much your unpleasant face can do (on the other hand, he was much uglier in the books).
I enjoyed number four, How to Cheat a Dragon's Curse.
