Oh my, I think this browser works.

I just .... had been thinking of my friends, and I didn't want to become the next ghost in their circles.

I'm still here, friends. I'm still here.

I hate DA's stupid updates.

I don't have the softwarewithal to keep up.

I don't know how many crashes and errors and freezes I've put my computer through already. I wonder how this one will do.

Thanks, everyone! I feel so loved.

Haha, so remember my last journal entry, wherein I did not even know how to celebrate hitting a hundred thousand views? Well, I decided on something. Decided on how to celebrate.  Uh. Assigned something that was already there, really. To be the celebration. Aside from.... what it already was.

I DUNNO LOL Icon

See 'cause I was making a thing.... and I guess it just kind of happened to coincide, timing-wise, with the hundred thousand hit mark, sooooo....

I decided to make IT my celebration.

Which also is nice for IT, because I wanted to direct people's attentions to IT sooner or later....

HAHAHAAAA I FEEL LIKE SUCH A SLACKER! :icondignitylaughplz:

But if it makes anybody feel any better, Breath of the Wild is sort of beginning to make threatening gestures at my muse with a hockey stick, so, maybe art soon.

BUT IN THE MEANTIME....

THANKS FOR A HUNDRED THOUSAND VIEWS, GUYS.... :iconilavplz:

NOW I'LL TELL YOU WHAT IT IS: :iconimhappyplz:

....

IT'S A BLOG, GUYS. :dummy:

Haha, perhaps that sounds not quite so exciting, but I'd invite anyone interested to read the introductory entry at least.

Zelda fans in particular may find it.... stimulating perhaps.

Oh, and if you leave any comments, let's keep 'em spoiler-free for those that have yet to catch up. :)

:iconpeacesymbolplz: !PEACE OUT, MY DARLINGS! :iconpeacesymbolplz:

Thanks everyone!

I imagine it was some time in the wee small hours of this morning that I entered the realm of six-digit views.

And you MISSED IT! :iconinsanelinkplz:

Or perhaps not.... I can't be the only creeper around here who collects view-number screenshots for the trophy alone.... :paranoid: Perhaps we'll never know.

Then again, I do recall saying I might not offer a prize or anything anyway if somebody did catch it, so.... there's that.

Even so, I kinda feel like I should do something. Ha, ha, yeah with all my leftover willpower I am sure. XD Hey, but miracles can happen.

So what shall I do? Draw a picture? Do an animation? Splice a feature? Settle for this journal? Talk at me, guys! What are some ways Connie can celebrate this milestone?

Yes it's come to fishing for suggestions. I am a tired girl. I blame it on Breath of the Wild and I regret absolutely nothing.

:iconpeacesymbolplz: PEACE OUT, CUB SCOUTS! :iconpeacesymbolplz:

One hundred thousand views? So what should I do? Send you poor goons on a screenshot chase? What then? Draw something for you? What if I don't feel like it? I guess we'll just wait and see.

Feelin' like unstringing the bow this afternoon at any rate. BlueLink, with this journal I hereby respond to your tagging of me last summer.

Okay some kinda thirteen questions thingy, lemme see.... let's cook some copypasta here maybe.... Oh ten questions. Ten questions right. Oh dear this grammar; I'ma hafta edit summa these....

1. You must post these rules.
2. Each person has to share 10 facts about himself.
3. Answer the 10 questions asked by the person who tagged you and make up 10 questions for the 10 you tag.
4. Choose 10 people and get their icons in your journal.
5. You have to legitimately tag 10 people.
6. No tag-backs.
7. You can't say that you don't do tags.
8. You MUST make up a journal entry.

Goodness okay. TEN FACTS ABOUT CONTRALTISSIMO:

1. I love the summer. I love the burning, burning summertime. In Phoenix. Yeah. That Phoenix. :iconfireplz:

2. I am a contralto. I have yet to meet another female whose voice rivals my own. Though I take pause at the prospect of discovering myself to possibly not be the deepest fish in the pond.... I long to find a true Challenger. Come at me bro. Sis. You.

3. I own and play three ocarinas. Two of them are the Ocarina of Time. The bigger OoT is a Spencer's. The other two are Songbirds.

4. I don't bother to spit out orange seeds, I eat kiwis with the skin on, and I nibble my strawberries stem-first.

5. The strangest thing I've ever gotten in my eye is scorpion guts. My eyeball glowed under a blacklight for three hours after the incident JUST KIDDING no it didn't.

6. 我說中文說得不好,但是。。。可能說一點! (I don't speak Chinese so great, but.... I can speak a little!) (說好不好?-v-;;; )

7. I'm a little bit addicted to braiding my hair. It's pretty, and neat, and stays out of the way, and it's guaranteed comfort the rest of the day. That rhymed.

I did that on purpose. :iconfezzikplz:

8. I am a journaling fiend. I keep a bin of journals under my bed. Most of them I've filled, but there are a few still waiting in the wings. The bin currently weighs 28.7 pounds. I also keep a massive database of Word document journalings. The typed records of my dreams alone amount to over two hundred pages. By the way, I really enjoy journaling about my dreams.

9. I am a writer. I write stories. And it feels like the state of being several universes trapped inside one person. But I have very nearly never let my.... ah.... OCs.... out into the open interwebs. Because I've always wanted to keep them safe. Under wraps. Until it's their time to bloom and shine. Oh I haven't drawn any of them in ages.... Maybe it's time for me to start drawing for myself again. Safe here offline. They were ever so much more lively when I drew them....

10. And I'm a Mormon. XD

Okay. ANSWERING QUESTIONS FROM BlueLink:

1. Favorite fantasy creature?
Oh wow. You know I'm not really sure. I really loved unicorns when I was little. Probably due to too much The Last Unicorn. Uh.... Hm. Well, I can't seem to think of anything else really screaming to supplant that so I'll just say unicorns.

2. Favorite hair and eye color?
Huh! I unno. Like, on me? Or just in general? Or during cosplay? Or in fiction? Or while designing a character? I dunno I'll just say ALL OF THEM!

3. Favorite Pokemon type, and Pokemon of that type?
Platopie, of the Edible Type! Lol I dunno I don't play Pokémon. XD

4. Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle? Chikorita, Totodile, or Cyndaquil?
Hey that's two questions! Huh. Well, I remember the cartoon I guess. And I'm old school and prefer the originals. I recall Charmander grew up to be a total jerkwad. Sooooo between Squirtle and Bulbasaur? Uhhh.... I dunno I guess Squirtle was pretty chill wasn't he?

5. Favorite video game enemy?
The kind I can really dance with and that supply wicked-awesome animations for all muh mad brawlin'! >D

6. Name 5 characters that share the first letter of your name.
Screenname? Excellent. Hm. Let me think. .... Oh I can't think of any good ones for C. Um. Celeborn.... OH, CARL JENKINS 8) .... Conan? CALVIN.... uh.... hah, Cheetor :D .... aaaaand .... aw heck, Caramon.

7. Plain chips or Doritos?
Oh, Doritos please. :)

8. Cherished childhood memory?
Panamá. Feeding coatimundis like ducks as they came trooping out of the grass. And no, I will never pronounce it correctly. I will always call them Coot - ih - MUN - dees.

9. I'm stealing this question from you (hehe!) Why did you make a DA account?
I guess it was just another out to the sadness of my cockatiel dying that day. That, and martiowlsten and DanikaMorningStar kept bugging me to do it.

10. Favorite kind of sweet treat?
I had strawberries and cream once. At a cousin-once-removed's house, in Utah. I'm pretty sure that was the most obscenely delicious thing I'd ever tasted.

Okay. TEN QUESTIONS FOR YOU TO ANSWER:

1. Do you enjoy what you do?

2. What is the hardest battle you are fighting right now?

3. I know it's hard to choose favorites, so just tell me a book you think is really great.

4. Got any closet passions that you think are just waaaay too nerdy to bring up with your friends? (For me it's philology)

5. Do you just plain enjoy a good movie, or do you get lost in impressive effects like fancy boom-work or delicious foley artistry? (Or perhaps the lack thereof? XD) I guess what I mean is.... do you take in the story or do you take in the artistry of your entertainment more?

6. What's the best compliment someone has ever given you?

7. What's the most difficult thing you've ever done?

8. What kind of music do you like to listen to?

9. What's the cleverest life-hack you've ever seen?

10. What is something you are proud of?

Okay. TAGGING TEN PEOPLE I guess....:

:iconmartiowlsten:
:icondanikamorningstar:
:icondreamer-t:
:iconlady-hayes:
:iconkaliskano:
:iconpepperjdarcy:
:iconsaraplutonium:
:iconyamilink:
:iconflurrin:
:iconbintavivi:

And in the words of the BlueLink who tagged me, "You don't have to do this, I just thought I'd tag for once in my life Lol."

I'M OUT!

I guess that last journal's been outdated for a while. Better fill it with something else. And the moment I had this evening suffices, I think.

Ordered something from the Zelda Symphony the other day -- and it came today!

Two items in the box: a T-shirt.... and a piano book. Ohhh-hohohohohhhh.... the Symphony of the Goddesses piano book....

You know, I don't suppose I'll ever be quite sure, but I think I may have liked the 25th Anniversary Special Orchestra CD that came with Skyward Sword.... more than I liked Skyward Sword itself. This was in 2011. Some of you may remember it.

I wondered about those lyrics in the Twilight Princess movement for years. OH just to be able to sing so joyously along with them in my car....

Then in 2013, I and a friend drove to Los Angeles to see Symphony of the Goddesses live at the Greek Theatre. I distinctly remember trying to read the choir's lips as they sang the romping Twilight Princess field music.... but being too swept away by the whole experience to really make much progress there.

Ahh.... such envies I had for what secrets were hidden in those black stage-folders....

Then in 2016, Symphony of the Goddesses finally came back to the Haunted Wasteland Phoenix. Never saw it the first time it was here, but I wasn't gonna pass it up now! Late November I took three friends and myself to go see it. Delight! Although truth be told I was kind of hurting for the choir during the Song of Time. I guess everybody has bad days.... though it would have been nice for them not to have theirs on the day I was spending so much money.

Raaaagh, but what flummoxation! Didn't they know how precious and rare those lyrics were? That whole experience was? AUGH I'd have traded places with them, just to hear it sung better. Which sounds madly egotistical. But precise and skillful singing is a gift God gave me and I ain't gonna pretend it's not there.

But the concert was fabulous. And my friends loved it. We all loved it. And the merch table was calling my name.

Alack they were out of piano books by the time I got there. But I knew they had an online shop....

And, long story short, my piano book came today.

AND IT HAS THE LYRICS.

AND READING THEM IN THE PIANO BOOK FEELS SILLIER AND MORE NONSENSICAL THAN HEARING THEM EPICALLY CHANTED THROUGH DEMONIC-SOUNDING BATTLE SEQUENCES OF MUSIC.

But I feel high as a kite today anyway, knowing that I can now sing along properly and confidently whenever it's Epic Zelda Time in my car.

If it sounds strange, then for those of you who don't know.... It does things for your heart, for your body, for your brain chemistry, when you sing. It's cathartic. It's healing. It's invigorating and enlivening. It's exciting and challenging. It's a journey.

And how much the better when that journey courses through one of your favorite milieus like a mad fiery steed over the plains?

Looking through the book this evening, I came to a page near the end of the Twilight Princess movement.... and just read the notes, and heard the music in my head.... And I read along to the tempos I remembered from the CD.... and by the time I came to the end.... reading the very notes of it....  just....

brought me to little laughs, and little tears, all at once.

Funny, when normal Latin characters hardly ever move me so.... that little dots and circles on sticks should smite my heart.

What music do you like to listen to, or sing along with, or be moved to tears or laughter by?

 ~ Connie
